School Meals
Nourishing every child to grow strong and shine bright.
At our school, all children are entitled to free school meals, and we strongly encourage every child to enjoy a hot, healthy meal each day. Our lunches are freshly prepared and carefully balanced to provide the energy and nutrition children need to learn, play, and thrive throughout the school day.
We ask families to choose school meals rather than packed lunches. This helps us keep everyone safe, as we have children with allergies in school and must carefully manage what is brought onto the premises. Providing meals through our catering team allows us to control ingredients and prevent any potential risks.
Children are also expected to stay in school for lunch. Eating together helps to build confidence, social skills, and a sense of belonging, while keeping routines consistent and calm for all pupils.
If your child has a specific medical reason that may prevent them from having a school meal, please speak with their class teacher in the first instance. We will always take the time to discuss your child’s needs and look at how we can support them to enjoy a suitable meal at school.
Our staff work closely with children to encourage them to try new foods and develop healthy eating habits. We never want any child to go hungry. We’ll work together to make sure every child has the food and energy they need to make the most of their day.
Encouraging Healthy Habits
We believe that learning to enjoy a variety of foods from a young age helps children develop lifelong healthy eating habits. Our catering team plans menus that introduce a range of flavours, ingredients, and seasonal produce, helping children discover new favourites while getting the nutrition they need.
Allergies and Dietary Needs
We take food allergies and intolerances very seriously. If your child has any dietary requirements, please contact the school office to discuss how we can safely cater for them. Our team works carefully to make sure every child can eat safely and confidently at school.
